Privacy Policy

Nema Biotech builds tools for early metabolic awareness. Protecting the information you share — especially your health data — is the foundation of that work.

Information we collect

To provide personalized metabolic insights, Nema collects information you choose to share during onboarding and ongoing use:

  • Profile basics: age, sex, height, weight, waist circumference, unit preferences.
  • Self-reported symptoms and lifestyle inputs.
  • Optional biomarker values (e.g. fasting insulin, glucose, HbA1c, hsCRP).
  • Daily check-ins covering energy, sleep, cravings and rotating symptoms.
  • Account information (email address) if you choose to sign in.
  • Basic technical data such as device type and anonymous usage events.

Health-related information

Some of the information you provide — biomarkers, symptoms and health goals — is a special category of personal data under GDPR. We treat it with extra care:

  • Processed only with your explicit consent, given during onboarding.
  • Used solely to generate your personal metabolic analysis and guidance.
  • Never sold, rented or shared for advertising purposes.
  • Nema does not diagnose disease or replace medical professionals.

How we use data

We use the information you provide to:

  • Generate your personalized metabolic status and contributing patterns.
  • Tailor nutrition, training and lifestyle recommendations.
  • Power daily check-ins and track changes in your inputs over time.
  • Maintain, debug and improve the quality and safety of the product.

We do not use your health data to build advertising profiles or train third-party models.

Data storage and security

By default, your data is stored locally on your device. If you create an account, your profile and biomarker history are securely stored in our managed cloud backend so you can access them across devices.

Stored data is protected by encryption in transit and at rest, strict row-level access controls and provider-level security from our infrastructure partners. Access is limited to the minimum needed to operate the service.

Third-party services

Nema relies on a small set of carefully selected providers:

  • Managed cloud backendfor authentication, database and secure storage.
  • Google Sign-Inas an optional authentication provider.
  • Product analytics(PostHog) for anonymous, aggregated usage events that help us improve the app.

Each provider acts as a processor under our instructions and is bound by appropriate data protection terms.

Your GDPR rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have these rights regarding your personal data:

  • Accessrequest a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectificationcorrect inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasureask us to delete your data.
  • Portabilityreceive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction & objectionlimit or object to how we process your data.
  • Withdraw consentat any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data deletion requests

You can remove your data at any time:

  • On this deviceopen Settings and use “Clear local data” to remove all locally stored information.
  • Cloud accountemail us at privacy@nemabiotech.com from your account address and we will permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

We may retain minimal records where required by law (for example, security or audit obligations).
